A sensational spell by Umesh Yadav helped him become the purple cap holder after the 8th match of the Indian T20 League. Yadav now has 8 wickets to his name. In the recent innings against Punjab, he picked a four-wicket haul with his excellent bowling. He conceded just 23 runs in the match and picked up the most crucial wickets. He got the wickets of Mayank Agarwal, Liam Livingstone, Harpreet Brar, and Rahul Chahar.

This match-winning spell got fans all excited. They were happy to see the veteran cricketer get the much-deserved opportunity. "Umesh Yadav most man of the match for Fast bowler in #IPL with 9. Tonight it will be 10. Delhi Capitals played Umesh just twice in last 2 years. #KKR themselves had a chance of picking up Umesh and they ignored him.
