The former New Zealand skipper and batting great Kane Williamson is currently in the headlines of social media. Notably, the Tauranga batter has been ruled out of the entire edition of the ongoing Indian T20 League 2023 due to a knee injury. The incident happened with him during the tournament opener against Chennai.

It all happened when Williamson was fielding near the boundary rope for Gujarat and he ended up landing on his right leg in an attempt to stop a six from Chennai opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. Eventually, he injured his right knee and was in extreme pain at moment; the physios immediately rushed to him and took him to medical care.

Recently, a video is also making rounds on social media in which the former Kiwi skipper is visible walking with crutches due to an injured knee. Subsequently, the cricket fans couldn’t hold their emotions and immediately took to Twitter with good wishes for the 32-year-old and also showered love and blessings on him.

Talking about the Indian T20 League 2023, now Gujarat will lock horns with Delhi in their second match of the tournament at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi today from 7.30 pm. Notably, Kane was released by his former franchise Hyderabad before the mini-auction for the Indian T20 League 2023.

Later on, the defending champions bought him for an amount of INR 2 crores. But unfortunately, they will not be acquiring his services anymore in the 16th edition of the cash-rich Indian franchise T20 tournament.
