Notably, the marquee international tournament will be hosted entirely by India, earlier in 2011, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were the co-hosts with India for the 50-over World Cup 2011.

Currently, the qualifiers for the 50-over World Cup 2023 in India are underway in Zimbabwe. Talking about the current status of the tournament, the six teams have qualified for the super-six stage of the qualifier tournament. It includes the likes of Zimbabwe, Netherlands, and West Indies from Group A alongside Sri Lanka, Scotland, and Oman from Group B.
