In a most-awaited piece of news for cricket fans, the governing body of international cricket has announced the schedule for the upcoming 50-over World Cup 2023 in India. Notably, the marquee international tournament will be hosted entirely by India, earlier in 2011, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were the co-hosts with India for the 50-over World Cup 2011.

Currently, the qualifiers for the 50-over World Cup 2023 in India are underway in Zimbabwe. Talking about the current status of the tournament, the six teams have qualified for the super-six stage of the qualifier tournament. It includes the likes of Zimbabwe, Netherlands, and West Indies from Group A alongside Sri Lanka, Scotland, and Oman from Group B.
Coming back to the schedule of the main edition of the 50-over World Cup 2023, the hosts India will start their campaign against Australia on Sunday, the 8th of October at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Followed by their second match in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium against Afghanistan.
