On 17 October 2022, Pakistan played its first warm-up match against England at Gabba, Brisbane. After winning the T20I tri-series in New Zealand, the Men in Green will look to do well in the upcoming 20-20 World Cup. However, the result of the first warm-up match did not go in favour of Pakistan.

They lost the match by six wickets. But, a funny incident took place during the telecasting of the match. The broadcaster made a rare mistake by including the England spinner, Adil Rashid in Pakistan’s squad for the World Cup. The post went viral as fans found it funny after seeing the England spinner on the list.

Speaking of the post, the Broadcaster was showing the available bowling squad of Pakistan for the World Cup. But, fans were shocked to see Adil Rashid’s name at the top of the list. However, it was a rare mistake from the Broadcasters.

Speaking about the warm-up match, Pakistan batted first and scored 160 runs for eight balls in 19 overs. No batters managed a fifty as Shaam Masood was the highest scorer with 39 runs off 22 balls. Adil Rashid bowled only two overs in the match. He conceded 14 runs but did not take any wickets. In reply, England's batters were in fantastic form. They chased the target down in just 14.4 overs. Harry brook scored 45* runs off 24 balls, including two fours and four sixes.

Pakistan will play another warm-up game against Afghanistan on 19 October in Brisbane. While England are coming off after winning the recent T20I series against Australia. They defeated the Aussies with a margin of 2-0 in the series. After winning the warm-up match, England will be in action again against Afghanistan on 22 October 2022 in Perth. The “Super 12” stage will kick off on the same day as Australia will take on New Zealand in the first match of the second round.
