Former England captain, Michael Vaughan has voiced over the fact that Adil Rashid is not a demanded player in the Indian Premier League. He also mentioned that the leg spinner had not played a single game in the Indian Premier league up till now.
Vaughan’s comments came on Sunday when England defeated South Africa in Paarl and won their 2nd T20 match. England has now got eight consecutive T20 wins.
Rashid bowled an impressive spell and restricted South Africa to 146/6 in the second Twenty20 international in Paarl. The leg-spinner picked crucial wickets of middle-order batters, Reeza Hendricks and Faf du Plessis. Adil Rashid finished his spell with figures of 2/23.
Adil Rashid should be in the most expensive picks in IPL, Michael Vaughan
Michael Vaughan praised the 32-year-old spinner on Twitter. The 46-year-old believes that any of the IPL franchise should pay the leg-spinner a considerable amount.
This year, RCB brought in Adam Zampa as a replacement for Kane Richardson. This also would make people wonder why the number 7 T20I bowler in the world hasn’t featured in the league yet.
Adil Rashid is an essential part of the England ODI squad and has played a key role in the last few years. The leggie has been a consistent wicket-taker and played all the matches in the World Cup last year. Adil picked up 11 wickets at an economy of 5.72 in the tournament.
In eleven T20Is this year, he has taken 12 wickets at an economy rate of 7.79. Rashid is known for breaking partnerships and choking the opposition in the middle-overs.
