Twitter went berserk as Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Afridi wielded his bat against Peshawar Zalmi during the Pakistan Super League. Afridi's innings of unbeaten 39 runs in 20 balls attracted a lot of attention. His side needed 24 runs off the last over. The over was bowled by Mohammad Umar. Umar's first ball was wide which meant 23 runs were needed off six balls.

Qalandars skipper hit a four of the next ball and a six on the delivery after. The equation came down to seven runs in three balls. Umar bowled two dots balls which brought the equation in Zalmi's favour with seven needed off the last ball. However, in a surprising turn of events, the left-hander hit a six to tie the game.

However, he couldn't prevent his side from losing in the Super Over. The Men In Green and Black could only muster five runs off Wahab Riaz. In reply, Shoaib Malik from the Yellow brigade hit two back-to-back fours to win the game. Qalandars ended up on the second spot and will play Multan Sultans in the Qualifier One on February 23. On the other hand, Zalmi ended on the third spot and will play Islamabad United in the Eliminator on the next day.

Talking about the main game, the Wahab Riaz-led side won the toss and elected to bat first. The team lost the early wicket of Mohammad Haris, who caught at deep fine leg. Veteran Kamran Akmal (18) couldn't contribute much and was clean bowled by Fawad Ahmed. No one could score a half-century as the team amassed 158/7. In reply, Shaheen Afridi (39*) heroics and veteran Mohammad Hafeez (49) helped the team level the score at the end.
