The rumoured rift between two former Indian cricketers, MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir, is a well-known fact. The latter is often seen criticising the former for some reason or the other. Now, this feud may have gone to another level after Gambhir uploaded a video on his Instagram handle.

Gambhir can be seen in the video having fun with his two daughters and three dogs. He then called one of his dogs "Oreo". This comes after former Indian captain MS Dhoni was involved in a marketing campaign with Oreo, a cookie company.

For the uninformed, Dhoni posted a message on his official Facebook account on September 24 informing fans of an announcement. Fans speculated many possibilities, such as retirement from the Indian T20 League, coming out of retirement, and so on. The "special announcement," however, turned out to be an ad campaign.

The former Indian national cricket captain was seen drawing parallels between the brand launching their Oreo cookies and India winning World Cups. The cricketer can be seen endorsing the biscuits in the product launch video. With constant attempts to reinforce the thought and sync a co-relationship between the launch and win, he said: "Oreo was launched in 2011 and India won the World Cup in 2011. This year there is another World Cup and if Oreo can launch again..."

India needs to come out of this hero worship: Gambhir

Meanwhile, Gambhir has recently become the talk of the town. He recently spoke out about India's "hero-worship" culture. Gambhir mentioned Virat Kohli and Bhuvneshwar Kumar from the recently concluded Asia Cup match against Afghanistan in an interview with The Indian Express.

"When Kohli got a 100 and there was this young guy from a small town of Meerut (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) who also managed to get five wickets, no one even bothered to speak about him. This was so unfortunate. I was the only one, during that commentary stint, who said that. He bowled four overs and got five wickets and I don’t think anyone knows about that. But Kohli scores a 100 and there are celebrations everywhere in this country. India needs to come out of this hero worship. Whether it’s Indian cricket, whether it’s politics, whether it’s Delhi cricket. We have to stop worshipping heroes. The only thing that we need to worship is Indian cricket, or for that matter Delhi or India," he said.
