Indian team batsman KL Rahul had been diagnosed with appendicitis during IPL 2021. He had to get the surgery done. After recovering from it, he has begun doing light training.
Kl Rahul was leading the Punjab Kings in IPL when he had to miss the last match due to an injury. He underwent successful surgery early this month. As he is recovering, he has shared a couple of his pictures on social media. The pictures are from his training session.
KL Rahul is the second high-scoring batsman in IPL 2021 with 331 runs from seven games. Shikhar Dhawan occupies the first spot.
The talismanic run-scorer has been included in the squad that would fly to England. He has not yet recovered completely but would be included able to go with the squad if he gets an okay in fitness clearance. Some reports have confirmed that he is recovering well and would be able to fly with the squad to England. There is still about a month before the World Test Championship final game. There is another one and a half months before the start of the Test series against England.
Such instances had happened before where an injured player had rehabbed with the team at a foreign location. The Indian team had taken Wriddhiman Saha with them to Australia last year. He did his rehab with the team in Australia.
India is undergoing a strict quarantine in Mumbai
The BCCI had arranged 3 charter flights to bring the players to Mumbai from different locations. Men’s and women’s were both brought together in the same flight. The women’s team would be flying to England too for a match against the host nation. Players of both teams are thereby undergoing a strict quarantine in Mumbai. The men’s team is scheduled to fly to England on 2md June.
The ICC World Test Championship(WTC) final would be held at Rose Bowl in Southampton. It would start on the 18th of June. India would play against New Zealand in the Finals. The championship would be followed by India playing a five-match test series against England.
