Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns in a virtual knock-out for them against the defending champions Gujarat Titans. Both teams played this match at RCB’s home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The visitors’ skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked RCB to bat first at the moist and wet track of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Batting first, Faf du Plessis’ men managed to get a decent total of 197 runs for the loss of five wickets in the first 20 overs of the game. Later on, the Titans chased down the target owing to the match-defining performance by young opener Shubman Gill.
With this defeat, the Royal Challengers have also been knocked out of the current season of the tournament. A section of the cricket fans immediately took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to come up with a lot of reactions and responses after the elimination of RCB from yet another season and missing a chance to win the trophy one more time.
