Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns in a virtual knock-out for them against the defending champions Gujarat Titans. Both teams played this match at RCB’s home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The visitors’ skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked RCB to bat first at the moist and wet track of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Batting first, Faf du Plessis’ men managed to get a decent total of 197 runs for the loss of five wickets in the first 20 overs of the game. Later on, the Titans chased down the target owing to the match-defining performance by young opener Shubman Gill.

With this defeat, the Royal Challengers have also been knocked out of the current season of the tournament. A section of the cricket fans immediately took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to come up with a lot of reactions and responses after the elimination of RCB from yet another season and missing a chance to win the trophy one more time.

Talking about the entire action of the match, Virat Kohli smashed an amazing century for RCB in the first innings. He scored 101 runs off just 61 balls with 13 boundaries and a six to his name. On the back of his outstanding knock, the hosts managed to put in a total of 197 runs after losing five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Noor Ahmed scalped two wickets for GT alongside one wicket each claimed by Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, Yash Dayal, and Rashid Khan.

While chasing the target,  Gujarat Titans comfortably crossed the line in 19.1 overs scoring 198 runs for the loss of four wickets, and won the match by six wickets. Shubman Gill smashed a swashbuckling century and scored 104 runs off just 52 balls with five four and eight sixes with the wood. His knock helped Gujarat Titans to eliminate RCB from the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Other than Gill, the number three batter Vijay Shankar also scored 53 runs with seven boundaries and two sixes to his name. Mohammed Siraj scalped two wickets for RCB alongside one wicket each by Vijaykumar Vyshak and Harshal Patel.
