Vinod Kambli, the former Indian cricketer, was often considered a talented gone wasted and this came on the back of his off-field activities that cost him his career. Known for his aggressive attitude, Kambli’s career was cut short and there was a period when fans compared his talent to that of former Indian great Sachin Tendulkar. 

That being said, on February 5, Sunday, Kambli was accused by his wife Andrea of beating her in a drunken state and an FIR was registered by the Bandra police regarding the same. On the other hand, Kambli is yet to come up with a clarification on the same and so far, the former Indian cricketer has not opened up on the issue. 

Reportedly, the incident took place at their home in Bandra and Andrea alleged that Kambli threw the cooking pan at her, eventually injuring her head badly. However, this is not the first time that the cricketer is under the radar for his antics as he was accused of several other controversial activities outside of cricket during his tenure with the Indian team. 

Complaint registered under Section 324 and Section 504 in Bandra against Vinod Kambli

Based on the allegations from Andrea, complaints under sections 324 and 504 were registered although no arrest has been made yet. For the unversed, section 324 is for ‘voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons’ and section 504 is for ‘intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace’. To make it worse, Kambli was reportedly in a drunken state when he abused his wife. 

While abusing was one part of her accusation, most of her allegations were about him thrashing her with pans and other pieces of stuff causing major injuries. Kambli recently hit the headlines when he was offered a job and opened up on his personal state of affairs when reports of a businessman offering him a job made rounds.
