Virat Kohli stunned the cricket fraternity and made a shocking decision to step down as India Test captain. Within a span of five months, Kohli has relinquished captaincy from all forms of the game. Post his announcement, the cricket fraternity came together to laud the superstar.

Kohli transformed Indian cricket and made the team into a ruthless unit. Under Kohli, India's pace bowling department turned into a fearsome group and today, they are considered one of the best attacks. Kohli led India to wins in overseas conditions, including twin series in Australia and matches in South Africa, England and West Indies. The stalwart will go down as one of India's best skippers.

Meanwhile, former England captain Alastair Cook was all praise for Virat Kohli. Cook said Kohli induced aggression in the Indian team and molded a team into a replica of its own. "If ever a team was shaped in the mold of their captain, it was the Indian team led by Virat Kohli, said Cook as per The Times.

Meanwhile, the hunt for the new Test skipper has intensified. The experts have a divided opinion on who should lead India going forward. While many are backing Rohit Sharma to lead, a few are in favour of KL Rahul and even Rishabh Pant.

India are next due to play Sri Lanka in a two match Test series and the announcement regarding the new skipper is likely to be done after the South Africa tour.
