Veteran England seamer James Anderson is indeed ageing like a fine wine. On Day 2 of the first Test against India, he dismissed a set batter, KL Rahul for 84 and went past Anil Kumble’s record of 619 Test wickets to be placed third in the all-time highest Test wicket-takers' list. After turning 30, Anderson has taken over 300 wickets and has solidified his reputation as one of the world’s best bowlers.

Former India batter Mohammad Kaif too was one of the several cricketers to laud the efforts of Anderson and took to Twitter to share his thoughts. In the Tweet, he mentioned how legends should be deciding when they want to draw curtains on their career. Apart from Anderson, players such as MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Rangana Herath, and Michael Hussey went on to flourish after crossing 30.

Kaif mentioned on his Tweet how Anderson has a deadly swing and has gone about his business by regularly taking wickets for England. “As a rule, always let legends decide when to retire… especially someone with a deadly late swing. #JimmyAnderson approaching 40 but has reached 621 and counting. Congrats on becoming the 3rd highest wicket-taker in test cricket” tweeted Kaif.

In the first innings, Anderson picked up four wickets, including the prized scalp of Indian skipper Virat Kohli for a golden duck.  The right-arm pacer would look to make telling contributions with the ball in hand in the second inning as well.
