The Eliminator in of the Women's T20 League kicked off between Mumbai and UP. UP won the toss and choose to bowl. The match was held at the DY Patil Stadium. Mumbai got off to a good start as Yastika Bhatia made 21 off 18 with four fours. Hayley Matthews hit a run a ball 26 with two fours and one six. The game could have gone either way at 69-2. But Nat Sciver Brunt was the star as she smashed the UP bowlers with aplomb.
The English player struck unbeaten 72 off 38 balls with nine fours and two sixes. Harmanpreet Kaur could not get going as she was castled by Sophie Ecclestone. Amelia Kerr supported Brunt well with 29 off 19 balls with five fours. The finishing touch was given by Pooja Vastrakar who hit a quick 11 off 4 balls with one four and one six. Mumbai scored 182-4 in their 20 overs.
Issy Wong picked up 4-15 with the ball for Mumbai to derail UP
In the second innings UP were put on the back foot straightaway. Alyssa Healy fell to Issy Wong off Harmanpreet Kaur. Saika Ishaque Mumbai's golden girl picked up the wicket of Shewata Sherawat. Tahlia McGrath was run out due to mix up with Kiran Navgire for just 7. Grace Harris made 14 off 12 balls with three fours but was caught by Wong off Brunt. Mumbai were all over UP like a rash at 58-4.
Then it was all Mumbai as Navgire got out after scoring 43 off 27 balls with four fours and three sixes. She was caught by Wong off Brunt. Deepti Sharma could not do much as she fell to Matthews after scoring 16 off 20 balls with three fours. Simran Shaikh and Sophie Ecclestone were dismissed by Wong for back to back golden ducks. Wong picked up 4-15 with the ball which also included a hattrick.
UP did not turn up to the eliminator as they were beaten by Mumbai in all three departments. Mumbai were wonderful with the bat an clinical with the ball. Jintimani Kalita picked up the 9th wicket for Mumbai. Ishaque picked up the last wicket and Mumbai demolished UP by 72 runs
