Vince McMahon, the former CEO of the WWE, returned as the executive chairman of the board on January 11 and reports claimed that he sold the company to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, although it still remains unclear if the rumours are true. On January 20, Friday, it was revealed that he and his wife Linda McMahon are no longer living together.
In wake of his return as the executive chairman of the board, his daughter Stephanie McMahon announced her stepping down as the Co-CEO of the company right away, saying that the WWE is in such a strong position, that it does not need her anymore. Fans, on the other hand, claimed that there was a managerial hustle at the top brass of the company.
“About 8 months ago, I took a leave of absence and within a few weeks, unexpectedly had the opportunity of a lifetime. I had the privilege to return as the Co-CEO and Chairwoman of the Board of WWE. WWE is in such a strong position, that I have decided to return to my leave and take it one step further with my official resignation,” Stephanie wrote on Twitter the same day her father returned as executive chairman.
Are Vince McMahon and Linda still married?
Dave Meltzer, the renowned American journalist, claimed that the duo are still technically married, although they stopped living together long ago. This news came as a shock to the WWE fans who left no stone unturned to slam Vince claiming that a person cannot live with a guy like him anymore.
“Technically they’re married. I mean, they haven’t been together in a long, long time though,” Meltzer was quoted as saying. For the unversed, last year, when the documentary on Vince paying huge hush money to four women to suppress allegations was released, Linda said that the former CEO must think about setting things right in his free time. It remains to be seen if Vince would come up with an official statement on the same, although it is highly unlikely as the former CEO is underplaying it at present.
