At his request, New Zealand's left-arm pacer Trent Boult has been released from the central contract by his cricket board. The left-arm pacer was released after he requested the board. He made his debut in 2011 against Australia and his side won the famous Hobart Test. The 33-year-old said that it was a tough decision for him and he thanked the NZC for their support.
The Northern Districts player added that the decision was taken to keep his wife and three kids into consideration. The 78-Test veteran has also mentioned that his family is his biggest motivator and he feels comfortable putting them first.
This is how Twitter reacted
The decisions that Quinton de Kock, and specifically Trent Boult, have made, point to a future of shorter international careers and more players happy to be part of the gig economy. With young families, it isn't easy to play both, international cricket and T20 leagues.

Trent Boult pulling out of his New Zealand central contract is huge news: every chance he has played his last Test and that their loss will be Rajasthan, Paarl and Barbados Royals’ gain
He only turned 33 last month and is arguably one of very few world-class three-format quicks

Leave Trent Boult alone.
He's 33. He's been an amazing servant of NZC for over a decade.
Time for him to cash in

Trent Boult stepping back from international cricket but not before destroying West Indies 😭 https://t.co/vmfeLg4z2m

Trent Boult has done what ABD did in 2018
Only difference is that SA Board didn't allow ABD to choose and pick the series/ tournaments he wants to play
While NZ board has allowed Boult to pick and choose the series he wants to play https://t.co/6DqWedlUmU

That should be end of his career for @BLACKCAPS
Red ball cricket should have been the priority but whatever. A huge respect lost— Kane Army DSZ (@DeepTakkar3) August 9, 2022
Let me guess, he won’t be available to tour Pakistan in December now? Will play Franchise T20 Cricket instead?
