The all-rounder star of Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell has talked about how things are changing for him after he has started poor in this year's Indian Premier League. Russell is hopeful that his batting performance will improve in the upcoming days of the ongoing IPL 2020. The West Indies all-rounder gave an impressive show with the ball against the Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday. However, he failed with his bat just like the earlier games.

During the last season of IPL, Andre Russell had complained about the batting position given to him in KKR. As a result, his position was upgraded this season. But, Andre couldn’t show the magic with the bat. KKR has appeared in 5 games so far and Andre Russell, who is known as the hard-hitting all-rounder, has scored 11, 24, 13 and 2 runs only. The fans have seen a glimpse of his dangerous batting but he didn't score anything big yet.

Despite the poor batting show, Andre Russell kept his self-confidence

However, the beauty of the Jamaican cricketer lies in his self-confidence. His poor score record has not lowered his confidence.

“I’m still confident (about finding form with the bat) and these things happen in cricket and I’m still working to find my way,”.

Said the Jamaican

It is true that he hasn’t fired with his bat yet, however, his bowling talent made a big impact for the team. When playing against the Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday, at the 18th over of the game, he's bowling helped in turning the game in KKR’s favour. From the last three overs, CSK needed 39 runs to win the match. Andre Russell gave away 3 runs only. In the last over as well, Russell defended 25 runs and helped his side to win the match, proving a part of his all-rounding skills to his fans and the cricket experts.

“That’s the beauty of this game. Didn’t go well with the bat and I made up with the ball today. Big moment bowling the pressure overs and I’m happy. Cross-seamers are the danger balls on this surface and once it hits the seam, it kicks. CSK bowlers used that a lot and I made sure I executed it well when I came onto bowl,”.

Said Andre Russell about his bowling against CSK.
