Former batsman Kumar Sangakkara has claimed that veteran Indian spinner Anil Kumble has given him sleepless nights as a batsman. Praising former India leg-spinner Anil Kumble as a champion, Sangakkara stated he was not only an orthodox leggie. Sangakkara further reckoned that Kumble’s accuracy was so good that it was hard to score runs against him, and he rarely gave a loose delivery. Anil Kumble is still the third bowler on the list of all-time top wicket-takers in Test matches. The former is behind only Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan and Australia’s Shane Warne. However, England pacer James Anderson has the chance to go past him in the English summer this year as the pacer is currently on 614 wickets. On May 19, the International Cricket Council (ICC) acknowledged Anil Kumble for his excellent performance in the international circuit.
