The highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan did not disappoint as fans got to see a high-quality edge-of-seat thriller match on Sunday. Pakistan took revenge of the first match loss and set up the tournament nicely.

After being asked to bat first, India got off to a good start as both openers emulated India's newly aggressive approach to batting. Rohit Sharma (28) and KL Rahul (28) got going with the first ball itself and played with intent. The Men in Blue made an important partnership of 54 runs for the first wicket before Rohit Sharma off Haris Rauf. KL Rahul too departed soon owing to a soft dismissal off Shadab Khan.

The next batter, Virat Kohli continued his decent form and held the inning together from one side. However, wickets continued to fall at the other end on a regular basis. Suryakumar Yadav, the number one batter in T20Is, could not showcase his supreme quality as he got out at 13 off of 10 deliveries. Rishabh Pant after being dropped in the first match against Pakistan got a chance in this one but could not emulate his form of the past and got out cheaply at 14 runs. Hardik Pandya, the Player of the match in the first match, was later dismissed at duck leaving the team in limbo.

On the back of Kohli's back-to-back half-century, India eventually reached a competitive total of 181/7. Shadab Khan, with two important wickets of Rahul and Pant, was Pakistan's best bowler. Coming onto chase the difficult target, Pakistan were again let down by Babar Azam, who got out at just 14 runs in 10 balls. The top scorer of the Asia Cup 2022, Mohammad Rizwan, however, was again at it as he held the fort from one side and came up with a match-winning knock of 71 off 51 deliveries.

Pakistan management made a bold decision of sending Mohammad Nawaz at number three and it worked like a charm. The bowling all-rounder made a match-winning 42 off 20 with the help of six fours and two sixes and it turned the game on its head.

Some bad fielding proved to be the last nail in the coffin for India's loss and eventually, they lost the match by five wickets. Khushdil Shah (14) and Iftikhar Ahmed (2) took Pakistan across the finish line after a massive twist in the tale in the last over.

Let's look at how Twitter reacted to Pakistan's win against the arch-rivals India:
