According to the recent reports, another member of the Delhi team tested positive for Covid-19. Tim Seifert, a New Zealand player, tested positive on Wednesday morning. Keeping in mind the virus outbreak in the team, their next match against Punjab is clouded with a lot of unrest

Notably, Mitchell Marsh and physio Patrick Farhat also tested positive for the virus earlier. Marsh was admitted to the hospital after testing positive. The encounter was moved from the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune to the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai to restrict the further spread of the virus.

According to a BCCI source, the positive case was discovered during a new round of testing on Wednesday morning. "As far as we know, Tim Seifert of New Zealand has tested positive," the source was quoted saying by the Times of India (TOI).

"We were tested in the morning and we will be tested again shortly. We continue to be isolated," a player was quoted saying on the condition of anonymity by the TOI.

Meanwhile, the Delhi team have struggled so far in the 2022 edition. The Rishabh Pant-led team have played five games in the tournament so far, and have only been able to win two of them. They currently stand eighth in the points table. Their middle-order batting has not been able to live up to the expectations. Their bowling, on the other hand, has been great. Kuldeep Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed have done a good job for the team.

Since Mitchell Marsh joined the team in the last match, they were expected to do significantly better. However, that was not the case. The Delhi-based franchise lost their previous match against Bangalore by 16 runs on the 16th of April. Their fans would be hoping that they get back to the groove as soon as possible.
