South African pacer Anrich Nortje has joined the team bio-bubble after testing negative for COVID-19. Nortje flew from South Africa to India along with his teammate Kagiso Rabada. The duo had missed out on Delhi's opening game of the tournament as they were serving quarantine. Nortje had to miss the next match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) as he tested positive for Covid-19. However, as per the latest report, the pacer has joined the bio-bubble as his previous report turned out to be a false one.

South African pacer Anrich Nortje has joined the team bio-bubble after testing negative for COVID-19. Nortje flew from South Africa to India along with his teammate Kagiso Rabada. The duo had missed out on Delhi's opening game of the tournament as they were serving quarantine. Nortje had to miss the next match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) as he tested positive for Covid-19. However, as per the latest report, the pacer has joined the bio-bubble as his previous report turned out to be a false one. 

Anrich Nortje, along with four other South African cricketers Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, and Lungi Ngidi, missed the first match of their respective teams in IPL 2021. All the players were in mandatory quarantine post delayed arrival owing to the home games against Pakistan.

Nortje prepared for DC's third game against the Punjab Kings

The South African pacer has missed the first two matches of the season. However, he is now prepared for DC's third game against the Punjab Kings on Sunday. Delhi Capitals have had a mixed start to their IPL 2021 season. They defeated Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets in their first game of the season. However, in the second encounter of the season, the 2020 season finalists came up short against the Rajasthan Royals in a tight game on Thursday. The Proteas pacer, who was the fourth-highest wicket-taker last season with 22 wickets, will be available for the Capitals' match against Punjab Kings.

A couple of days' break is going to give Anrich Nortje the time to get back into action. He was part of the recently concluded ODI series against Pakistan. The fast picked up 7 wickets in 2 matches. He was one of the crucial reasons for the Delhi Capitals reaching their maiden IPL final last year in UAE. Nortje was brought in the team as a replacement for Chris Woakes. Woakes pulled out of IPL 2020 due to personal reasons. His inclusion in the playing XI will undoubtedly be a big boost for new captain Rishabh Pant. Anrich Nortje's replacement, Tom Curran, has had a tough time so far in the tournament. The youngster conceded runs at an economy of 10 and 9.55 in the two opening matches.
