Chennai won the thrilling final against Gujarat Titans by a margin of five wickets on the last ball owing to the brilliant heroics of the star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Now, after three weeks after the end of the tournament, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has revealed a lot of shocking things about MS Dhoni’s knee injury. He also hailed Dhoni for his dedication to the team throughout the tournament.

“We knew it was a struggle for Dhoni to play but with his commitment to CSK, his leadership & how the team benefits, you have to appreciate him, till the final, he never complained about his knee but everyone knew that he was struggling, after the final, he told "Okay, I will have surgery", he finished the surgery, he is happy & recovering well,” said Kasi Viswanathan to ESPNcricinfo Tamil.

Later on, CSK CEO also talked about the decision of Dhoni to keep playing in the tournament despite the knee injury.

"He knows what to do, how to go about it, so we aren't going to ask him 'what are you going to do, how' etc. He will inform us on his own. Whatever he's doing, he'll call first and inform only Mr. N Srinivasan, not anyone else. Factually, he'll be straightforward with him. From him, we'll get the information that this is what he's doing. It's been this way since 2008. That's how it will continue,” he added later.
