India has recently made plenty of changes to the combination of the national side and the experiments have turned out to be somewhat fruitful. Many batters and bowlers have been given an opportunity to try their hand in the international games in recent times. Former India wicketkeeper-batter Saba Karim feels that Arshdeep Singh, a newcomer to the Indian team, can make it to the T20 World Cup squad.
He feels that Arshdeep Singh will be vital to the Men in Blue's chances in the 20-20 World Cup set to take place in Australia later this year. Karim added that Arshdeep Singh will be given the green signal to make the squad for the 20- 20 World Cup because the Men in Blue have been long hunting for a left-arm pacer who can add more variety to the attack.
Saba Karim feels that Arshdeep Singh will add more dimensions to the bowling attack of India because he can bowl the tough overs whenever the team requires him to. He can bowl well at the start of the innings and also bowl the tough overs at the death.
“I have high hopes from Arshdeep Singh because he adds so much of variety to the attack. Plus he’s kind of multidimensional in terms of the slots of overs that he can come in and bowl. Plus, he is learning each and every day and you need that kind of left armer in your attack who has got so much of variation. So yes, I think he’s pretty high on the picking order in terms of world cup selection,” Karim said on SPORTS18’s show ‘SPORTS OVER THE TOP’.
The plus point of Arshdeep is that he picks wickets because he possesses variations with him. He is not a one-trick pony and even if he does not pick wickets he will give away fewer runs and bowl tight overs that can be beneficial for the team and change the complexion of a T20I game.
