India's left-arm medium pacer, Arshdeep Singh has been facing a lot of hatred after India's loss against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022. The reason for this is that he dropped an important catch of Pakistan's Asif Ali. It happened in the 18th over of the second innings bowled by Ravi Bishnoi.

Ali tried to play a slog sweep but the outside edge of the bat meant that the ball went to short third man. On most occasions, Singh could have easily caught the ball. However, in a shocking turn of events, the left-armer dropped a sitter which eventually proved costly. At that stage, the Green Brigade needed 31 in 15 balls. After this, Pakistan went on to win the game.

Notably, Arshdeep took the wicket of Asif in the last over of the game to keep his side in the hunt. In the last over, Babar Azam's men needed only seven runs to win but could score this much only after facing five balls. After the fans, the Indian fans have understandably been gutted as their national side lost to their arch-rivals.

However, some anti-social elements started trolling the Punjab player. Some of the trolls could be ignored as they were harmless memes. However, on the flip side, there are some groups of anti-social elements who were calling him 'Khalistani'. For those who don't know, it is a term used for separatists. On the brighter side, a lot of famous personalities have taken a stand against below-the-belt trolling. They took to Twitter and are supporting the young player at this time.

Hashtags such as #IndiaWithArshdeep and #IndiasupportArshdeepSingh is trending on the micro-blogging website at the time of writing.
