India and Australia are all set to lock horns in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting with the first Test of the series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Thursday, the 9th of February. Notably, Pat Cummins & co. have already touched down in India to practice in Bengaluru ahead of the first Test of this much-anticipated Test series.

In a recent line of observations and analyses, it has been learned that the visitors are primarily focusing on the spin concern that they might face on the Indian tracks. In light of this very fact, the Aussie team is practicing hard to tackle the Indian spinner including the likes of Axar Patel and veteran off-spin all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin.

After reportedly studying the videos of Axar Patel’s bowling, former Australian skipper and star batter Steve Smith was seen practicing with a domestic Indian spinner Mahesh Pithiya, who has quite a bit similar action to that of Ravichandran Ashwin.

The video of Smith practicing with Pithiya is now making rounds on social media and subsequently, the former Indian cricketer Abhinav Mukund also shared the same video with the caption, “Funny how Ashwin used to impersonate Harbhajan growing up, now there are many Ashwin clones. That just shows the impact he has had on Indian cricket. Will it help the Aussies though? What if he changes his action now?”

Later on, the Indian fans being Indian fans as always, couldn’t resist reacting to it and reminding that the 36-year-old might have some different tactics to welcome the visitors on the Indian tracks.

Here’s how fans reacted:
