There were concerns about the availability of David Warner for the second Ashes Test in Adelaide after the batter took a blow on his ribs while batting in the first inning at Gabba. However, Australia batter Travis head has confirmed Warner's availability for the second Test. The hosts managed to put on a dominating performance in Brisbane and beat England by nine wickets.
Warner didn’t open in the second innings at Gabba and also left the bio-bubble that gave wings to the speculations of the batter missing out in the second Test. Travis Head admitted Warner is a bit sore but revealed that he is good to play the Adelaide Test "Obviously he’s a little bit sore. We didn’t take any risks with him. "He was going to bat, but in the end, our bowlers did a fantastic job to give him a day off.
"I think for him it's just rest. I think he's ready to go, so no issues with David,” Head said according to Cricketer.
The 35-year-old recently underwent cupping therapy in order to be fit in time for the Adelaide Test. While Warner will be available for the match, the hosts will have to make one forced change as pacer Josh Hazlewood has been ruled of the second Test due to side strain. Jhye Richardson is likely to replace him.
