India and Sri Lanka will lock horns in the Super Four clash of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. This game will be a must-win for the seven-time winners (India), courtesy of their defeat against Pakistan on September 4. On the other hand, the five-time winners (Sri Lanka) will look to lock their place in the final to be played this weekend.

They are coming off a win against Afghanistan in their previous fixture. This makes the game a lot more interesting for fans from both nations. Not to forget, they are the two most successful teams in the history of the tournament.

India

The Men In Blue started their Super Four round with a defeat against arch-rivals Pakistan. In that game, they made quite a few mistakes that they would love to correct to remain alive in the tournament. First up, the defending champions need to look at the way they are batting. they got good starts but didn't convert them into big scores.

This is one area they need to work on to ensure that they reach match-winning totals. Talking about the bowling, they didn't utilize Deepak Hooda as a bowler, which made it difficult for them with Hardik Pandya having a bad day. The Rohit Sharma-led side would like to make a few changes in their playing XI.

Dinesh Karthik can come in place of Rishabh Pant. Axar Patel can also come into the team to fulfil the all-rounder role in place of Yuzvendra Chahal.

Probable Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh

Sri Lanka

The former winners have made a great start in the Super Four round as they beat Afghanistan in their last fixture. With this win, they have enhanced their chances of qualifying for the final, which they haven't done since 2014. In that tournament, they went on to win against the then defending champions, Pakistan to win the title.

Now, talking about their clash against India, they wouldn't want to change their playing XI as it is a winning combination. The Dasun Shanaka-led side would love to exploit their opponent's added pressure of a must-win game.

Probable Playing XI: Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis (wk), Charith Asalanka, Danushka Gunathilaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka (c), Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Maheesh Theekshana, Asitha Fernando, Dilshan Madushanka
