The highly anticipated encounter of the Asia Cup 2023 will take place between the arch-rivals, India and Pakistan on Saturday, September 2 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. This edition of the tournament is set to be played in the ‘hybrid model’, in which it will be hosted jointly by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
India will play their all matches in Sri Lanka, including the one against the arch-rivals Pakistan. The tournament will kick off with the tournament opener between the hosts Pakistan and the new entrants Nepal tomorrow at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.
Meanwhile, in quite a bit of disheartening piece of news for the cricket fans, the rain might play a spoilsport in this high-voltage encounter between the two Asian cricketing giants. The report of the MET department suggests that there is almost a 60 per cent chance of rain during the India vs Pakistan clash in Kandy. Just a day before the India vs Pakistan match, the same venue will also host a match between Bangladesh against the co-hosts and defending champions, Sri Lanka.
