Australia opening batter David Warner has been rested for the five-match T20Is against Sri Lanka at home. Hobart Hurricanes opening batter Ben Mcdermott has been recalled in the side. The series will start from February 11 in Sydney. Apart from Mcdermott, Travis Head, Jhye Richardson and Moises Henriques have also been recalled. The trio missed out on the selection ticket to the T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE and Oman.

Mitchell Marsh and head coach Justin Langer will miss the series ahead of the multi-format series in Pakistan starting from March 3. Andrew McDonald will act as the head coach. Josh Inglis has been included because of his performances in domestic cricket.

Josh Hazlewood will make his comeback in international cricket after missing four out of five games in the Ashes. Leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson, all-rounder Daniel Sams, Daniel Christian and pacer Nathan Ellis have missed out on the selection.

Never felt ready to represent Australia before like now: Ben McDermott

The right-hander has said that he never felt ready to represent his country before as he is feeling today. He added that he has learned from his experiences.

"I don't think that I wasn't ready to play for Australia (before), but I do feel ready now," McDermott said earlier today. "I feel like I'm at the top of my game.

"I've developed a lot of learnings through those experiences. They haven't been good ones, I won't shy away from that, but I've definitely learned from those experiences and hopefully I come back well."
