Australia, India, and England players could fly to the UK on chartered flight after IPL: Glenn Maxwell

Maxwell stated that he wouldn't mind being on the same flight that would take India, NZ and England players to the UK after the IPL. A senior BCCI official agreed that the option could be considered by looking at the international travel guidelines. All commercial flights from India to Australia are currently banned due to the rise in cases in India. Cricket Australia claimed that they are abiding by the rules and regulations set by the government. In the meantime, Australian pacer Pat Cummins has donated $50000 to the Prime Minister's (PM) Relief Fund for oxygen supplies in India.

According to sources, around 30 Australian players, coaches, and commentators are likely to get out of India. This is because of the deteriorating situation right across the country. According to Channel9, talks about bringing David Warner, Steve Smith, and coaches like Ricky Ponting, David Hussey, and Simon Katich back home have taken place. However, nothing definite has come up. Brett Lee, Michael Slater, and Matthew Hayden are also in India as they are a part of the commentary panel. They will also have to head back home if Cricket Australia takes any decision.

There will be various options, and BCCI will try and take the safest one: Arun Dhumal

India and New Zealand are set to battle it out in the World Test Championship final from June 18. India will fly to England for the WTC after the conclusion of IPL. England players in the ongoing IPL are anticipated to accompany the Indian players in the same flight. BCCI official Arun Dhumal said that the idea could be explored as BCCI looks at several possibilities for all the overseas players' safe passage back to their respective countries.

The New Zealand team is likely to miss some of their Test specialists who are also currently involved in the IPL. Trent Boult, Kane Williamson, Kyle Jamieson, and Jimmy Neesham are plying their trade in the 2021 IPL season with different franchises.

The first Test game between England and New Zealand kicks off on June 2. The second match will begin from June 10 to 14. Also, the forthcoming Test series between England and New Zealand is not part of the ICC World Test Championship. This Test series will be followed by the most awaited final of the World Test Championship (WTC) between New Zealand and India. The final clash of the World Test Championship is going to take place on June 18, 2021, at Southampton.
