Australia is currently touring Pakistan for a complete bilateral series, and the first Test match is underway in Rawalpindi. This is the first time Australia's team is visiting Pakistan in the last 24 years. Security threats have been an issue with matches played in Pakistan and reports of a massive bomb blast in Peshawar, that took 30 lives, have come up, leaving the fans concerned. This incident took place in Peshawar, 170 km away from where the match is taking place.

Notably, many incidents of security concerns have troubled Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the past. More recently, New Zealand cancelled their tour to Pakistan last year citing security concerns as the reason. In this incident, many former Pakistani players came to defend the board as the concerns were claimed to be bogus. England too pulled out of their tour after New Zealand's withdrawal.
Speaking about the first match, Australia is struggling to get wickets on the first day. Only Nathan Lyon was successful in getting a wicket in the first two sessions of the day. He dismissed Abdullah Shafique for 44. Imam-ul Haq went on to get a hundred though.
This series has three Test matches, three ODI matches, and a one-off T20 series. All the matches will be played across Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore in the next month.
