Australia vs India 2020: Major stats from second ODI at SCG

Australia affixed the three-match ODI series against India after winning the second game by 51 runs at SCG. The Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to bat first. The home team put up a target of 389/4 at the end of the first innings. In the 2nd innings, Team India managed to score 338/9 in 50 overs.

Australia had a massive score of 389/4 (50 overs) at the end of the first innings. It is their highest total against India so far. Australia's previous record was 374/6 in the last match at Sydney. The score was also the second-highest ODI total for the hosts at home. The game witnessed all the top five Aussie batsmen scoring 50+ runs in the first innings.

India Team Stats

India scored 338/9 in 50 overs. It was India's highest ODI total in Australia. Team India's earlier record was 331/4 in 49.4 overs at Sydney.

It was also the second-highest ODI total for any visiting team against Australia. The previous record was 343/5 by Sri Lanka at Sydney in 2003. It was the first time India's seven Indian batsmen scored 20 plus run in the same innings.

Smith accomplished his hundred in just 62 balls. It was the third-fastest Day century for an Australian batsman. Smith became the fourth batsman to hit three successive ODI hundreds against India. The other three cricketers are Zaheer Abbas, Nasir Jamshed, and Quinton de Kock.

The destructive batsman becomes the second cricketer to score five successive 50+ ODI scores against India. 

India Player Stats

Virat Kohli played his 250th ODI match on Sunday and became the 8th Indian batsman to play 250 ODI matches. He has so far scored 22011 international runs in 462 innings. Kohli becomes the third Indian batsman to score 22000 international runs. Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid were the first two Indians to reach this milestone.

He also becomes the fastest batsman to complete 22000 international runs. Previously it was the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who ended 22000 runs in 493 innings.

Virat as a captain scored 5257 ODI runs which is the second most after Mohammad Azharuddin. Azharuddin scored 5239 ODI runs as an Indian captain. Now it's just MS Dhoni who is ahead of Kohli in this list as Dhoni scored 6641 ODI runs as a captain. KL Rahul, the wicketkeeper-batsman scored 76 runs. His score is the third-highest individual One Day score for an Indian wicket-keeper batsman in Australia.
