The 13th Chappell- Hadlee Trophy, after being canceled due to COVID, is finally back to its former glory. In 2020, only the first ODI was played at the SCG before teams had to get back to safety in their homes as COVID struck. Now since the world is past the COVID threat, Australia and New Zealand have planned to resume the highly anticipated bilateral series. 

Team News: 

Australia, after a disappointing defeat in the final match against Zimbabwe, would be looking to return to form against their Kiwi neighbours. The hosts won the three-match series against Zimbabwe in the first two matches itself but the third one proved to be a shocker as Zimbabwe trumped the Aussie by three wickets. 

David Warner has been in incredible form of late and the team would hope that he continues to play with intent. The batting all-rounder, Mitchell Marsh will miss the series due to an injury while Pat Cummins has been allowed rest keeping the 20-20 World Cup in mind. 

Elsewhere, New Zealand have come on the back of a 2-1 win against West Indies and look to gain confidence ahead of the upcoming 20-20 World Cup. Kiwi captain, however, has looked a little off with the bat and needs to come good before the World Cup.
