IPL Australian players will be available for the second phase of the 14th Indian Premier League season. The remainder of the tournament will take place between September-October in the United Arab Emirates. According to Cricbuzz, Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Pat Cummins has declared his unavailability long back. However, the remaining Australian players will be traveling to the Middle East.

The development comes after Australian captain Aaron Finch stated that the players who have withdrawn from the series would find it hard to justify going back in the final stages of the IPL 2021. Around seven Australian cricketers have opted out of Australia's white-ball tours of Bangladesh and the West Indies. The upcoming matches will provide an excellent chance for the cricketers to prepare well for the T20 World Cup.

IPL will be an ideal platform to get ready for the T20 World Cup

Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Jyhe Richardson, and Kane Richardson have withdrawn from the tours of West Indies and Bangladesh. All the above players were last seen in the 14th season of the IPL. Apart from Smith, all the other players wanted to spend some time with their families after an extended stay in bio-secure bubbles. Australian star batsman Steve Smith is out because of an elbow injury. Australia is going to play five T20Is and three ODIs against West Indies starting from July 10.

What also makes it prudent for overseas players not to miss IPL is the fact that the T20 World Cup is also going to be conducted in UAE. This means that it will provide them with a perfect platform to get ready for the marquee event. The forthcoming T20 world cup is going to start just days after the league ends. Meanwhile, the Indian cricket board is reportedly also in talks with the ECB to grant permission for its players to be part of the T20 league. The final decision on the status of overseas participation in the IPL will be known by mid-July.
