Meanwhile, India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series against West Indies. West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran won the toss and chose to bat first in the second ODI. The Men from Caribbean put a score of 311 for the loss of 6 wickets in the first innings, thanks to Shai Hope's century.

The Indian team lost their first three wickets for 79 runs.  Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson then steadied the innings as they managed to score their respective fifties. However, once the duo got out, things looked a bit difficult. India were reduced to 280 for the loss of 7 wickets in 45.5 overs.

However, Akshar Patel started his onslaught right from the next over and ensured the victory for Team India. With 6 runs requiring off the last 3 balls, Axar Patel managed to put the fourth ball beyond the ropes.

He was adjourned the man of the match for his wonderful 64*. With this victory, the Indian team managed to seal the series. The third ODI against West Indies will be played on July 27 at the same venue. All eyes will be on Arshdeep Singh as fans await his entry into the playing XI.
