Axar Patel announces engagement with girlfriend Meha on his 28th birthday

On his 28th birthday, Indian all-rounder Axar Patel announced his engagement with his girlfriend Meha. He took it to social media to announce this major occasion of his life, and his fans showered him congratulatory messages in the comments section.

His teammates from Gujarat and India sent him their wishes on social media. Yuzvendra Chahal and Chintan Gaja, his Gujarat teammate, were among the first to congratulate the couple. Gaja shared Patel's photo on his story wherein he can be seen going down on one leg, with a 'Marry Me' sign and a giant heart in the background.

To celebrate this with his fans, Axar Patel shared a social media post. “Today is the new beginning of our life “Together & Forever”. Love you till eternity,” read the caption of his social media post.

A glance at Axar Patel's career

2021 was a special year for the left-hander as he made his debut for India in the longest format against England. With the support from his fellow spinners, he got 27 wickets in three matches. The team grabbed a 3-1 victory on their home soil.

Axar is currently suffering from a stress fracture and has missed out on the ongoing South African tour. He is unlikely to join the Indian camp for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka but might return to play in the IPL. He was retained by Delhi Capitals for the 2022 season.

In his last Test match against New Zealand, he picked up yet another five-for and also scored his maiden Test half-century in that series. The all-rounder has proved what he is capable of in the few matches that he has played. The team selectors will look forward to his comeback, especially to play in the home conditions.
