Virat Kohli is probably the greatest cricketer to have come out in the last two decades. His great knocks make news like nothing else could, even his failures garner the attention that is beyond comprehension for most people.

Recently a comeback ton after 1021 days made shockwaves throughout the cricketing world; so much so that Indian fans forgot the heartbreak of the Asia Cup loss.

The right-hand batter has been a crowd pleaser and newsmaker ever since he came into the national side. His earlier exploits included aggressive on-field bust-ups and sensational batting, while he has calmed down a few notches on the aggresion front, his batting could still see good days ahead.

Recently, in a blast from the past, a screenshot has been making the rounds on Twitter. The screenshot shows a Tweet by popular actor Ayushmann Khurrana from 28th September 2009. The alleged tweet by the actor, shows him making a case for Mohammad Kaif's inclusion in place of new player Virat Kohli.

The Vicky Donor actor's Tweet reads, “Mahendra Singh Dhoni We have more talented batsmen than Virat Kohli, pls notice Mohd Kaif again, he’s doing good in the domestic circuit! Best’o’luck”

Ayushmann Khurrana however did not have the benefit of hindsight as fans of today have. Kohli has since then gone on to become one of the best modern-day batters and already etched his name into the history books. With 71 international centuries, the Delhi born is now only behind Sachin’s record.

Even in 2009, when this Tweet was made, Kohli was in sensational form. In eight ODI innings, Kohli made 325 runs at an eye-watering average of 54.17. He also scored a century, his first in ODI, and two half-centuries in the calendar year.

The 33-year-old has gone on to build a career in cricket that many could only dream of. The top-order batter is currently preparing for the upcoming T20I series against Australia starting on 20th September 2022.
