Despite not understanding the language properly, the fans are enjoying Bhojpuri commentary a lot as they are finding it too funny.

The Indian T20 League 2023 finally started on Friday, March 31 after a fantastic opening ceremony that saw outstanding performances from Arijit Singh, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tamanna Bhatia. The grand event ended with the skipper of defending champions Gujarat, Hardik Pandya, presenting the trophy with Chennai captain MS Dhoni. They were also joined by Jay Shah and Arun Dhumal.

Meanwhile, the management have organised an extra dose of entertainment as the current season can be streamed in languages - Hindi, English, Marathi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Oriya, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. But the Bhojpuri commentary caught a lot of attention as many fans found the commentary very funny.

If we talk about the first match, the Gujarat-based franchise defeated the four-time champions by 5 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Chennai's opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad played a brilliant knock of 92 runs but it wasn't enough for his team to win the match as no other batter could keep the scoreboard ticking.

Bhojpuri is mainly used by the people in Bihar the commentary is being enjoyed by many fans around the country as there are a lot of funny lines used by the commentators which made the fans split. Meanwhile, an active cricketer, Shivam Singh, who plays in first-class cricket for Bihar, has also joined the Bhojpuri commentary team and talked about his cricket journey recently.

“I have always been a cricket geek. I have been playing this game since my school and college days. I continued that passion during my engineering days too. But I still remember the first time I held the bat, it was during my 10th standard. I joined DLW Academy in Banaras and started my training,’’ Singh was quoted as saying by ABP News.

“I was raised in Banaras and that was the place I started my cricketing journey from. Then I went to Allahabad to attend college. The moment Bihar got affiliation from the Indian Cricket Board, I returned to my hometown and started playing district cricket and soon I got a place in Bihar side,” cricketer-turned-commentator confided.
