Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, has emerged as one of the white-ball greats in recent times. He has been doing exceptionally well for Pakistan and has been one of their most consistent players. It is no surprise that leagues all around the world would want him to be a part of their tournament.

Aaron Finch, the Australian captain, has approached Azam to join his Big Bash League team, Melbourne Renegades. He said that the deal might be completed by Sunday.

"I just asked Babar (Azam) if he's interested in coming and playing for the Melbourne Renegades and he certainly is - and, hopefully, we can announce that signing tomorrow!" Cricket Pakistan quoted Aaron Finch as saying. After a pause during the conversation, Finch said, "Only joking..."

While this may have been just a joke, Finch also wished that Babar and a few others from the Pakistan team should join the Big Bash League next year.

"It would be great to have more world-class players in our domestic competition. Babar is obviously as good as anyone for a long time in this format of the game and T20 cricket," he added.

Speaking of Pakistan players playing in the BBL, Finch said that they are always welcome. He also said that any team would be happy to have the Pakistani skipper on their side.

"If Babar Azam is available to play Big Bash, any team would love to have him. Any of the Pakistan guys, we love having them as part of our competition. Any opportunity that they can fit into our camp is fantastic and they'll always be welcome in the Big Bash," he said.

In the Meanwhile, Pakistan has beaten Australia in the three-match ODI series, 2-1. Babar Azam scored consecutive centuries to win them the series. The two teams will now clash in the one-off T20 match to be played on the 5th of April at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
