With the series leveled at 1-1, India and West Indies locked horns with each other in the third match of the five-match T20I series on Tuesday. India lost the last match by five wickets but made a phenomenal comeback to register a seven-wicket win.

Coming on to bat in the first innings, West Indies got off to a good start with both openers, Brandon King and Kyle Mayers taking the home side beyond 50 before the first wicket fell. King got out for run-a-ball 20 in the 8th over. Mayers, however, held firm at one side and got to 73 in 50 deliveries.

Captain, Nicholas Pooran looked rusty for his 22 off 23 balls. However, Rovman Powell (23) and Shimron Hetmyer (20)'s contributions help the team reach 164 at the end of the first innings. It won't be wrong to say that West Indies lost a bit of steam in the dying embers of the first innings but reached a respectable 164 in 20 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar came up with two wickets, while Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh claimed  one wicket each. Coming on to chase the target, Rohit Sharma was again accompanied by Suryakumar Yadav to open the innings.

Both got off to a good start before Rohit Sharma was retired hurt due to back pain. Suryakumar, in a bid to fix his place in the upcoming 20-20 World Cup squad, played a sensational knock of 76 runs in just 44 balls. He scored five boundaries and four sixes during his innings.

Shreyas Iyer, however, never looked settled and departed while playing a bad shot on the front foot. Rishabh Pant (33) and Hardik Pandya (4) were tasked with taking the team home but the latter fell cheaply. It was Deepak Hooda and Pant who eventually got the team cross the finish line.

Dominic Drakes, Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein took one wicket each but could not defend their total. The home team ultimately lost by seven wickets. Twitter was abuzz with the win after West Indies gave a scare in the last match. Let’s look at some reactions to India’s win against West Indies:
