15th September pit two top teams Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals against each other in the Caribbean Premier League. The game was not just a fight for two points but a battle to prove which team was truly the best in the league.

Barbados Royals sat comfortably at the top with 12 points in six matches ahead of their encounter with Jamaica Tallawahs. JAM with six points in six matches lingered in the mid-table but a win against the top team has now inflated their motivation ten folds.

Coming onto bat first after losing the toss, the BR team suffered a major blow as they lost three wickets at just 17 runs. It was the South African batter Quinton de Kock who held the innings and brought the BR team out of a humbling. The southpaw made 74 runs in 43 deliveries with the help of seven boundaries and three sixes. Captain David Miller also played a solid inning of 34* off of 27 and took his team to a respectable 146/6 in 20 overs.

Imad Wasim sent three BR batters packing in his sensational four-overs spell.

Coming on to chase what was a decent total, JT began in a confident fashion stringing up 53 runs in 4.3 overs before their first wicket fell. Opener Brandon King struck a 46 runs knock in just 33 deliveries to inch JT to the target. Captain Rovman Powell was playing at 5 off 16 when he hit a massive six on the fourth ball of the 17th over. This six proved to be the match-defining moment and soon the rain started pounding and the match was stopped.

The JT fans were on cloud nine as the D/L showed them to be six runs ahead of the par score following the rain halt. No balls could be balled then after and JT were adjudged victorious following number crunching by the D/L method. That Powell six proved to be the differentiator and Twitter was soon buzzing following JTโ€™s nail-biting win.
