Star Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is currently in action for Nottinghamshire during the ongoing edition of Vitality Blast 2023 in England. The sensational pacer amazed everyone with his historic spell in the recently concluded match against Birmingham Bears at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Shaheen scalped four wickets just in his first over.

The cricket fans were also elated after this impressive outing of Shaheen, as he also became a bowler to take the most wickets in a single over in T20 cricket. The fans took to Twitter and showered praises on Afridi for his heroics, even though he ended up on the wrong side of the match.

Speaking of the action of the match between Birmingham Bears and Nottinghamshire, the visitors’ skipper Alex Davies won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Steven Mullaney’s men got bundled up on the score of 168 runs after batting for the entire 20 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Tom Moores played an impressive knock of 73 runs off 42 balls with six boundaries and four sixes to his name. Apart from him, Lyndon James and Joe Clarke also contributed with the knocks of 37 and 26 runs, respectively.

Hasan Ali and Jake Lintott scalped three wickets each for Birmingham, with Henry Brookes and Glenn Maxwell taking one and two, respectively.

Later, while chasing the target, Birmingham Bears were in big trouble after Shaheen Afridi’s record-breaking first over. They lost their four wickets only on the score of 7 runs after the end of the first over. But they recovered from that, and opener Rob Yates guided his team to a close win by a margin of two wickets. Yates played a match-defining knock of 65 runs off 46 balls with 3 boundaries and 5 sixes on his credit.

Other than him, Jacob Bethell and Jake Lintott also contributed with the knocks of 27 runs each. Eventually, Bears won the match by scoring 172 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 19.1 overs with five balls to spare.
