Former Bangalore players, Chris Gayle and AB De Villiers will be inducted into the Hall of Fame of the team. They used to wear jersey numbers such as 333 and 17 respectively. Notable, the former West Indies skipper Gayle never wore this number in international cricket. On the other hand, De Villiers used to don the same number for South Africa.
Talking about the number 333, it is Gayle's highest Test score that came against Sri Lanka in a Test match in November 2010. Meanwhile, he joined the team as a replacement for the injured Dirk Nannes in the 2011 season. On the other hand, De Villiers was signed by the three-time finalists during the player auction early that year. From 2011 to 2017, both played with each other on the team.
In 2018, Punjab signed the two-time 20-20 World Cup winner for the West Indies at his base price. On the other hand, the former Proteas skipper till he announced his retirement in late 2021.

Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming 16th season, the Red Army has included these legendary players in its Hall of Fame. They took to Twitter to announce their decision to the fans.
"Jersey numbers 17 and 333 will be retired forever as a tribute to @ABdeVilliers17 and @henrygayle, when we induct the legends of Bangalore into the Hall of Fame," the franchise tweeted.

Talking about the team, they will kick off their season on April 2 against five-time winners, Mumbai. Notably, Bangalore will play its first game at its home ground, Chinnaswamy Stadium after the 2019 season. Due to COVID-19, the team played on neutral venues just like other sides. The ground has been a happy hunting place for the Blue Brigade, Mumbai as they have lost only one game, i,e in 2013.
