Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been added to the IPL auction list with a base price of INR 1 crore. The batsman has been part of the auction since 2008 but went unsold in every single edition.

The IPL 2021 mini-auction will be taking place on February 18 in Chennai. The mega event will see all the eight franchises picking up the best players to fill 61 spots in their teams. A total of 292 players will be under the hammer out of which 164 are Indian players.

Mushfiqur Rahim is the highest run-scorer in the history of the Bangladesh Premier League

Mushfiqur Rahim made his international debut in 2006 and has been an essential part of the Bangladesh team. In 86 games, he has scored 1282 runs with five half-centuries. Lately, the wicket-keeper featured for the Beximco Dhaka in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup. Although his side couldn’t make the final, Rahim showed his class with the bat. In 10 games, Rahim managed to score 297 runs at an average of 35.87.

In the ODI format, Rahim has 6,266 runs in 221 matches at an average and strike-rate of 36.6 and 79.3, respectively. The Bogra-born is presently the leading run-scorer in the history of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Although Rahim never played in the IPL, other Bangladeshi cricketers have taken part in the tournament. The most famous of them is Shakib Al Hasan, who has been a regular face in the most popular T20 league. He has won the IPL in 2012 and 2014 with the Kolkata Knight Riders. Apart from him, Mashrafe Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman, Tamim Iqbal, and Abdur Razzak have been part of this T20 tournament.
