The IPL 2020 was host to some match-winning batting performances. The IPL is known to provide a platform for many uncapped players to showcase their talent, both for bowlers and for batsmen. KL Rahul won the Orange Cap for hitting 680 runs in the entire season. Ishan Kishan, on the other hand, hit 30 sixes in the entire tournament.
There were many standout batsmen this season, both capped as well as uncapped. However, only a few managed to smash the ball out of the park consistently. Here is a list of the top 5 batsmen who hit the most sixes:
1. Ishan Kishan (30)
This was Ishan Kishan’s best performance in the blue jersey as he bagged the most runs for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020. Consistently performing and hitting balls out of the park casually, Kishan smashed 516 runs in just 14 games. His best display was against RCB, where he hit 99 in just 58 balls.
2. Sanju Samson (26)
Sanju Samson started his RR campaign on a high note, banging back-to-back half-centuries. However, things got a little slow later on. Samson still managed to hit 375 runs in 14 games for RR, smashing 26 sixes throughout the season.
3. Hardik Pandya (25)
A brilliant all-rounder, and an even brilliant hitter of the ball, Hardik Pandya managed to hit 25 sixes in just 157 balls, hitting a six in almost every 6 balls. Mumbai Indian’s powerhouse always helped his team stay on the winning side with his quickfire cameos. He finished the season with an impressive 281 runs and an even more impressive strike rate of 178.98.
4. Nicholas Pooran (25)
Fourth on this list and tied with Hardik Pandya is Nicholas Pooran. Pooran got off to a slow start but quickly caught up in the latter half of the season. The West Indian cricketer was instrumental in KXIP’s 5 consecutive victories after they were defeated in their first 6 matches. Pooran scored 353 games in 14 games, slamming 25 sixes in the process.
5. Eoin Morgan (24)
The England and KKR captain hit 24 sixes in the season’s entirety, leaving him 5th on this list. Although more was expected from the KKR captain, he did spark up the KKR dugout and fans on some occasions. Morgan hammered 418 runs in 14 games, finishing with an impressive strike rate of 138.41. He was the second-highest run-getter of KKR, finishing behind Shubman Gill, who scored 440 runs.
