Defending champions Sydney Sixers will cross swords with Hobart Hurricanes in match eight of the Big Bash League (BBL). Sixers defeated the Hurricanes by 14 runs in their recent game. Skipper Moises Henriques led from the front and top-scored with 73. England all-rounder Tom Curran supported his skipper by scoring a useful knock of 27.
Curran’s late blitz propelled Sixers to a fighting total of 144. The all-rounder later went on to take three wickets and kept the Hurricanes down to just 130. Sixers now have two wins in two games. They had defeated Melbourne Stars in the first game by 152 runs.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes would be hoping for a better batting performance in the coming game. Barring Peter Handscomb, the rest of the batters were guilty of throwing their good starts away. Skipper Matthew Wade and Short managed to get the team off to a decent start but both got out scoring 20 and 21 respectively. The duo would be hoping to make amends in the return game.
