BCCI has ruled out Varun Chakravarthy of the upcoming T20I series against Australia because of a shoulder injury. The spinner had acquired his first call from Team India after his impressive performance in the IPL 2020.
The Tamil Nadu spinner, who was playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, completed the tournament as his side’s most noteworthy wicket-taker. He got 17 wickets from the 13 games, which includes the memorable spell of 5 for 20 against Delhi Capitals. Varun Chakravarthy's economy-rate in the ongoing IPL was amazing as well, as he yielded just 6.84 runs per over.
However, the spinner's expectations of swaying in the Indian jersey colors have been ruined by the shoulder injury, the BCCI updated. Furthermore, the Indian cricket board reported that he would be replaced by the pacer, T Natarajan in the T20I team.
“The spinner has been ruled out of the T20I series owing to a shoulder injury. The selectors have named T Natarajan as a replacement,” the BCCI said in a statement.
Natarajan was part of the Indian squad touring to Australia. However, BCCI had not named in the main team. He was earlier named only among the reserve team of net bowlers. The left-arm pace bowler has been one of the impressive hunts of IPL 2020. Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Natarajan made a huge impression on everyone with his exact yorkers and death over bowling. He completed his IPL journey picking 16 wickets.

While the BCCI didn't give insights regarding Varun Chakravarthy's shoulder injury, reports have recommended that he played the IPL with it. According to sources, the spinner was experiencing difficulty during the throw of the ball because of a labrum tear in his shoulder. The injury doesn't influence his bowling however hampers his throwing.
The injury has worsened as the IPL proceeded. The shoulder niggle has been the explanation behind KKR making him generally field inside the 30-yard circle to prevent the injury from intensifying. The report expressed that the KKR updated the Indian side physio about the status of the injury after their IPL journey ended, and after the board selected the national squad.
