BCCI has organized charter flights for players to Mumbai to begin their quarantine ahead of England Tour

India women’s T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur has stated that charter flights have been arranged to ferry players to Mumbai. The BCCI has arranged it for both the men’s and women’s national teams.

The BCCI has arranged charter flights for both the men’s and women’s national teams.

The men’s and the women’s teams are both scheduled to gather in Mumbai to begin their hard quarantine ahead of the England tour. The quarantine will be two weeks long. It was also reported that both the men’s and women’s teams could fly off to England together.

Harmanpreet Kaur gave her statement on her official Twitter account. She stated that the BCCI has arranged for charter flights for both men’s and women’s players to fly to Mumbai. The players made their individual choices based on the distance and their convenience. The Indian women Test and ODI captain Mithali Raj also expressed her gratitude regarding this step. She thanked the BCCI for taking elaborate measures considering the health and safety of the players. Mithali Raj stated that traveling in a pandemic is challenging. She is reassured to see the elaborate measures BCCI has taken to keep the players safe.

The India men’s teams would play against New Zealand in the world Test Championship final. It would be followed by a five-test series against England. The women’s team on the other hand would play a one-off test against England. Three ODIs and three T20IS would be after that.

The women’s team has a new coach for the UK tour

Ramesh Powar has recently been appointed as the new head coach for the women’s national team.

Last week, India women’s squad for England tour was finalized. Harmanpreet Kaur retained her position as the T20I captain. Veteran player Mithali Raj will captain the team in the one-off Test and the ODIs.

The Indian women’s tour of the United Kingdom will begin on June 16 with the one-off test in Bristol. The ODI series will begin from June 27 while the first T20I is scheduled for June 9 in Northants. The tour would end with the T20I final in Chelmsford on 15th July.
