The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a video of the Indian women’s team on Twitter. The video captured the team going through their paces and gearing up for the upcoming England tour. The BCCI also shared a message along with the video, saying that the women’s team is united in their vision and is focused on the task at hand.

The England tour would see the women’s team feature in one test, three ODIs, and as many T20Is. The event would start on 16th June and end on 15th July. At present, there has been a lot of rumors surrounding the BCCI. There have been reports that the BCCI has not yet paid the women players their T20 world cup fees.

The BCCI tried to prove that there is no conflict between the board and the players with that video. It was a short clip posted on Twitter with a self-explanatory caption that conveyed the unity among the players.

There was a report in UK’s telegraph that revealed the Indian women’s team is yet to receive the prize money for ICC T20 World Cup. The Indian women’s team was the first runner-up in that event held in Australia. The Indian side was led by Harmanpreet Kaur. The event was held in February – March last year.

The BCCI clarified that the players would receive the payment soon

The players were asked to send their invoices. The BCCI stated that the women’s cricket team would receive the prize money before the end of the week. The transaction was processed and the money would be shared soon with the players. According to some reports, the delay was due to the pandemic as the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai was closed.

The Telegraph had published a follow-up report about four women’s cricketer who was not given the latest contract. It stated that those players won’t be paid for close to eight months of employment. The players are Veda Krishnamurthy, Ekta Bisht, Anju Patil, and D. Hemalatha.

The BCCI rubbished those reports. It assured that the players were paid according to the contracts. The payment for the contract period had also been made.

The Indian men’s and the women’s teams are both quarantining in Mumbai before the England tour. Both the teams are likely to fly to the UK together for their respective matches, early next month.
