Meanwhile, Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League 2021 with a broken finger. Stokes suffered the injury during the Rajasthan Royals' first match of the tournament against Punjab Kings while taking a catch to get Chris Gayle's wicket. After dropping a catch earlier in the game against Punjab, Stokes ran hard from long-on and dived forward in a bid to complete the catch to dismiss Chris Gayle.

Wisden has named Australia's Beth Mooney as the leading woman cricketer for 2020

Stokes was also designated as the leading cricketer of the year by Wisden for 2019. The 29-year-old led England to glory in the World Cup final against New Zealand. Furthermore, the southpaw had also played a brilliant knock against Australia at Headingley in the Ashes to take England to a memorable win. Consequently, Stokes had become the first English player to bag the award after former all-rounder Andre Flintoff who won it back in the year 2005. Ben Stokes had concluded Indian captain Virat Kohli's domination. The Indian batsman had won the prestigious award for three years in a row.

On the other hand, Wisden has also named Australia's Beth Mooney as the leading woman cricketer for 2020. Beth Mooney had played a crucial role in taking Australia to victory in the T20 World Cup. She had also finished as the highest run-scorer in the WBBL. Meanwhile, West Indies ODI captain Kieron Pollard has been titled the leading T20 cricketer of 2020. The dynamic all-rounder scored 168 runs in four T20I innings at an average of 56 and a brilliant strike rate of 204.87.
